Why
Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems are not yet standardised across the EU and vary greatly in their quality and structures. Information and Career Guidance services in VET particularly need to be adapted to meet the needs of users, companies, and labour markets. With rapidly accelerating processes of labour market modernisation, supporting the VET sector’s transition into a digital world is more urgent than ever before.
It is for this reason that three high-level public authorities – the Region of Sardinia (RAS) in Italy, the Region of Thessaly in Greece (RoT) and the State of Berlin in Germany have come together. Supported by an expert practitioner network, the GeGS project identifies commonalities and experiments with common solutions that could support VET systems across the EU. The proposed European cooperation structure offers a unique opportunity to advocate, based on evidence, the introduction of innovative, flexible and holistic solutions within EU VET systems.
